Lumber fishing from the canal

Living next to a canal gives us at the Raw-Jah house a remarkable responsibility: debris of all kinds can come down with the water and eventually clog the flow. In times of heavy rains it's required more care and attention. This month in the span of one week, I have made and amazing score... Check it out!

I soon notice that something was blocking the water...
Getting closer this is what I found!!!

Various branches and one thick wooden board were stuck right before the old jump of the waterwheels. It's been quite tricky to take it out because it was so heavy...

My boot and the board, about three meters long.

Just a few days ago on the 19th of August, I had found another heavy load of lumber stuck in the canal: it was this broken log, soaked in water... it's been so hard to pull it out of the current but somehow I did it!!!

As soon as it's dried it is going to have great potential for some building projects... we will see.
