Forging bamboo

Never really played much before with a blow torch but I must say it's a really handy tool when you need to treat bamboo making it harder and mould proof. It's definitely a meditation: it takes a lot of time and effort to do it properly but the result it's really rewarding. This is all italian grown bamboo that I am putting together for a custom made bed-frame.

Chances are that I am going to set up a bamboo forging outpost in my the workshop of my dreams... ideally running on wood-gas... saying it out loud so it may help to manifest this soon!
So this is a short clip using a small blow torch mounting butane camping-type cans. It's very slow but the effect can be really artistic almost like spray-painting with fire! Very engaging I must say.

For bigger amounts of material to process with fire, it's definitely worth to up-scale the tool to something at least as big as this, mounted on an LPG tank. Big flame means less detail but it's definitely fine.

All the pieces get finally assembled and they need to be inserted in an existing bed frame: this is how it looks like and it's easy to lift it up to access the storage space underneath.

The customer is really happy; I'm happy too.
Good learning experience. Giving big thanks.
